Finding Grains of Truth In a Pile of Shit

Can people really tell the difference? Can you tell hot air from a cool breeze?

In college there was a guy who used a pseudonym because of “them.” He was an avid Jack Chick Publishing reader. The pseudonym was D. Monte.

He introduced my roomie / fellow theater major to Jack Chick. Ultimately I found the notion that pretty much anything that was NOT (this was Chick’s world view) King James Bible version only non-denominational Protestant and very, very anti-Communist, anti-Jew, anti-Muslim, anti-Catholic, anti-atheist and also general anti-fun (dancing would most certainly set him off as he hated any non-religious music) to be preposterous. Personally it was his contention that Dungeons & Dragons (and rock music) brought about actual demons, spells, etc that was so preposterous I couldn’t take much else what he pushed seriously.

Mostly.

He had a couple of anti-Catholic books for example. One about the alleged not much discussed history of Martin Luther and what he actually found visiting the Vatican (allegedly topless females serving food and general debauchery stuff right out of Garth Ennis’ work). Seemed kinda truthy. Again, any long-standing institution must be extremely diligent or it will fall into corruption and so forth. It’s why we need more gadflies, not less. (I feel some kind of Assange apología forced on me coming from DoD here, despite his being or being involved with Russian intelligence; if the truth is told, does it matter who told it and why? Sort of yes, sort of no).

Then there was the book about the monks living in Germany in the mountains who came down and joined the German military and were among the most brutal of those committing atrocities, crimes against humanity. There were photos of the same monk, for example, in uniform holding a glaive of some kind with a corpse and the corpse’s intestines hanging off the end of the glaive and again, previously, in his robes. This group was never punished. After the war, they went back to being monks.

But what’s the larger point? There are actual Catholics who want that exposed. It’s not about Catholics being Nazis or Nazi sympathizers as a group. It’s about not wanting embarrassing or faith-shaking information out there or in one’s own face now and again, for certain. But I am saying, because of the total dysfunction in Washington and the threat of climate change, that the USIC as a majority of it has and still is in the process of turning over a new leaf. My friends are understandably skeptical. Good! I might need rescuing if it turns out I’m somehow being conned.

And the other point, Chick had a few points even if his preposterous Luciferian conspiracy involving literally everyone not just like him is just that.

Of course at the same time, there is some evidence that Lenin was backed by wealthy interests so as to stop the Russian sailor labor movement and so forth. Given his history otherwise of being essentially another Hitler, and Stalin and Mao following in his footsteps, it’s hard to see how there might not be something to that as well. BUT it’s the wealth and power, not the philosophy or the religion that is to blame. It’s what Lord/Baron Acton said about power corrupting.

That’s why “DaD” (DoD) has given it all over to an AI. Well, not ALL of it. See, AI is a tool. It’s not entirely the boss of me. We’re still figuring that all out. Work in progress.
