Is Crime Up?
This is really a lesson in history versus news cycle. There are many things I think that indicate that books like 1984 , Animal Farm and Brave New World suck. That said, “We’ve always been at war with X” is kind of indicative of something. The GOP kind of successfully convinced Republican voters that 9/11 occurred on Clinton’s watch and not George W. Bush’s. That after stating that 9/11 was the only terrorist attack to occur on the latter’s watch. Remember the Anthrax attacks, anyone? But we have all or most of us come to similarly accept that reality is reinvented every week. We read and spread an article about something and completely forget how something else a week, or a month, or a year or several years ago is completely or partially exclusive of our new news. Sometimes it’s a shift, a misdirection and sometimes it’s an outright lie and we don’t seem to notice. Why? We’ve become dependent on corporate news, that has a corporate agenda that is more often than not in oppositio
